HELP WITH PIPE SIZE:
To determine which softener valve is appropriate for your home (the 3/4" 255 or the 1" 268), you will need to determine your incoming pipe size (on private wells, this would be AFTER the pressure tank). As a rule of thumb, most homes up to 2 1/2 baths have 3/4" plumbing, 3+ have 1".
Copper, CPVC, PEX, PB Pipe: 3/4" pipe size actually measures 7/8" outside diameter (about 2.75" circumference). 1" pipe size actually measures 1 1/8" outside diameter (about 3.5" circumference).
PVC Pipe: 3/4" pipe size actually measures 1.05" outside diameter (about 3.3" circumference). 1" pipe size actually measures 1.315" outside diameter (4.13" circumference). |
